Hi! My name is Amy Jonas and I have only been involved in the dog show world for approx. 9 years. Once acquiring my first dog, a Brittany, I was hooked!
My love for the Brittany began in Texas, USA while I was abroad competing and training in horse related activities..I wanted a dog to keep up with me and the horses and also love a good cuddle on my days off...
Returning to Australia it took me a few years to acquire my first Brittany, Missy (Thank you, Helen Green of Rivamist Brittanys!)
I then acquired a Cairn Terrier after evaluating several smaller breeds through a good friend who happened to have one that needed a home! Along came Tigga (Thank you Pam Gregg of Catraz Kennels!)
I became "AIMFOR KENNELS"

Here also began my passion and love for the CairnTerrier breed. Sturdy, child friendly, rugged little rascals, who make me laugh every day. The more I became involved with them the more I enjoyed learning about them, grooming the coat, training, the way they moved and are structured. Learning about the history of this ancient breed as well facinated me. Interestingly enough, they are one of the few breeds which has not changed much over time.
Coming from the horse world I strive to breed sound, correct, well moving dogs. Dogs who could do the job they were bred for. I aim for Quality not Quantity! With the Cairns I take a lot of guidance as well as support from Kristy Roebig in QLD (Who also is in co ownership with my girl "Ch Aimfor Star Attraction")

Currently studying for my Group 2 Terrier License, I am in no hurry as I want to be 100% sure of what I am putting up and judging when the time comes. I am really enjoying the study though and loving terrier breeds more and more! I better make more room!
We dont have kennels at all here, dogs are run together freerange and come inside to sleep in crates. (I crate train all my dogs) Show training begins early and I try to take a very active 'hands on' approach with my babies. Clicker training and positive rewards is also used. Grooming is a dailey thing here, and the others tend to hang around the table hoping for a treat!
I dont show consistantly at present due to my young family. I do try to get out at least once/twice a month to a show, as I do enjoy it. Once my youngest is a little older I will be back most weekends! Hence why I dont enter current pointscores either.
I took pride in organising the breed stand with other members of the Cairn Club of Victoria for the Caufield Pet Expo 2011. I take pride in the breed and love introducing it to others to help in keeping it around for centuries to come!
I have a young family that mostly accompanies me to dog shows, Bailey (10 years) and Teig (5) and Ayla (2.5)... My husband although not involved directly with the dogs is a fabulous and understanding help, support and extra hand! He is the one person who will put up with me blabbing on forever about dogs/matings and pedigrees and not know a thing, but still nods his head encouragingly!
My chief puppy player ^ Teig (5)
